This wheel-thrown stoneware vase is partially glazed in a Shino glaze. The remaining bare clay as well as the glaze turned into a warm reddish/brown during the firing process, which contrasts beautifully with the lighter top part of the vase.
This one-of-a-kind bud vase has been fired to Cone 10 (2350℉) in a wood kiln at Chester Spring Studio in Historic Yellow Springs.
The vase is 5.5” tall.
