This wheel-thrown and hand carved stoneware bud vase is glazed in a Shino glaze on the inside, the rim and the carved design. The remainder of the vase is bare clay, which received its warm red and brown tones from being fired in a wood kiln. The dark specks are ash deposits that become part of the glaze.
This one-of-a-kind bud vase has been fired to Cone 10 (2350℉) in a wood kiln at Chester Springs Studio in Historic Yellow Strings.
It is 3.25” tall and 3” wide.
